Putin Urges Quick End to Iran Conflict After Deadly Strikes
Russian President Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for a swift end to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, following deadly attacks that reportedly resulted in many civilian deaths.
The Kremlin said Putin expressed sympathy to Iranian leadership over those killed in what he termed armed aggression involving Israel and the United States.
In a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday, Putin offered condolences for the loss of several senior Iranian figures and civilians. Those reportedly killed in the attacks included Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, members of his family, and multiple Iranian political and military officials.
According to the Kremlin, Putin made clear Russia's stance that fighting must stop without delay. He emphasized that military force cannot settle disputes in the Middle East and urged a swift return to diplomatic talks to ease tensions involving Iran and the wider region.
Putin also mentioned that he has stayed in touch with leaders from Gulf Cooperation Council countries as events unfold.
During the conversation, Pezeshkian thanked Russia for standing with the Iranian people. He said this solidarity matters as Iran works to protect its sovereignty and independence. The Iranian president also updated Putin on the latest developments in the conflict.
